Florida International University (FIU) is becoming a world-class university. Since 1972 when we opened for classes with 5,667 students - the largest opening day enrollment in U.S. collegiate history - FIU has been trying to build the infrastructure necessary to address an ever-growing demand. Demand for classroom space to teach a growing number of students (now more than 34,000 students). Demand for laboratories to conduct cutting-edge research. Demand for office space for our increasing number of outstanding faculty. Demand for special spaces for students, including on-campus housing, advising facilities, career counseling centers, athletic facilities and equipment, health care centers, libraries and the like.
Many fields of study are critically dependant upon students having access to real-world experiences, including state-of-the-art equipment and software. Your generous donations for buildings and equipment can make the difference between an average education, and an outstanding education. Your gifts provide the margin of excellence that helps our students become tomorrow's leaders. Students that will help solve tomorrow's challenges.
Most of these gifts qualify for state matching funds.
