The mission of the Office of Foundation Relations is to strengthen
support for FIU and its programs from national and local private
foundations.
The Office assists FIU’s colleges and schools, as well
as individual faculty members, in building relationships with
foundations. It also helps them in identifying, researching
and cultivating potential sources of financial support from
foundations.
The Office plays an important central role in coordinating
university-wide approaches to major
Foundations, ensuring that proposals that request foundation
funding reflect both the University’s priorities and
fit within the funding interests of each foundation.
Together with the Office of Research
and Prospect Management, the Office
of Foundation Relations can assist individual faculty members,
as well as academic and
administrative units, in identifying potential sources of foundation
support for specific projects. The Office can also assist units
in the preparation and editing of a proposal, once clearance
to approach a given foundation has been granted.
