• We welcome your phone calls to learn about news
and activtities in your units.
Please call before submitting information.
• We prefer to receive information electronically,
via email. This is the preferred method, particularly for lengthy
documents. Please send information as an MS Word attachment
and, if possible. Also, if it is not a very large document,
paste the text in the email.
• Photographs are appreciated and may be submitted
along with news about your program/event. To be considered
for publication, however, they must be high quality. If they
are digital/electronic photos, please make sure they are high
resolution (300 dpi) for print reproduction. 72 dpi is acceptable
for web and/or email publication.
• Always provide a contact name and phone number
with your submission.
• Our electronic media (web site, This Week, NOW@FIU)
are more for news about events and/or academic programs. FIU
Magazine focuses on features, profiles that showcase the excellence
of the University and its alumni.
• Submissions for our electronic media must be
made at least two weeks in advance of publication date.
• Communications receives a great deal of materials
for publication. Please follow-up your submission with a phone
call to a member of our staff to ensure we received it and
to discuss its publication.
